Grillo G131

The Grillo G131 is a motocultivator, or walking tractor, intended for work on large areas in agriculture, horticulture and market gardening. It is a well-balanced machine, fitted with a Briggs & Stratton 16 Vanguard V-Twin OHV engine of 479 cc with two cylinders, producing 14 HP (10.3 kW), air-cooled with a dry air filter with replaceable cartridges, started via an electric starter with a 12V battery. Tank capacity is 8.5 liters. Drive runs through gears in an oil bath, and the gearbox with clutch engagement offers 4 forward speeds and 2 reverse in the walking-tractor version (the sickle-bar version has 2+2 speeds). The clutch is a dry disc with manual engagement. The standard rotary tiller (code 989011) has 4 adjustable tines and a working width of 70 cm, adjustable to 550 or 700 mm (up to 850 mm with extensions, kit 930312), at a working depth of 18 cm and tine diameter of 360 mm. The P.T.O. comes in two variants: a higher output (on request) synchronized with the gearbox, and a lower output at 1028 rpm clockwise with the engine running at 3000 rpm. The machine has a differential lock, operated by a lever on the handlebar, easing maneuvering on uneven terrain. Tractor tires 5.00-12 and 6.5/80-12 with adjustable discs are available, as are wide steel wheels of 46x12 cm diameter for softer soil. Travel speed with 5.00-12 tires ranges from 1.2 km/h (1st gear) to 7.1 km/h (4th gear), with two reverse speeds (1.7 and 3.5 km/h). The handlebar is height- and side-adjustable and can be reversed, allowing various front and rear implements to be attached - rotary tiller, sickle bar, snow blower, flail mower, rotary harrow and others, connected via a flange coupling. The service brake is a drum brake (kit available on request, code 978611). For easier transport the wheel axle can be detached when the engine is off, and greater stability is achieved by widening the track from 12 to 24 cm using Grillo wheel extensions. Machine weight is 195 kg.
