GINGER 106

The Del Morino Ginger 106 is a compact mulcher, made in Italy, the third-largest model in the Ginger line. The gearbox is made of aluminium, contributing to the machine's low overall weight compared to the cast-iron gearboxes used on the Flipper lines. Power is transmitted via a two-belt transmission with an automatic tensioner. Working width is 106 cm (42”), while the overall machine width is 120 cm (48”). The rotor is fitted with 32 Y-blades or 16 flails, the same count as the smaller 96 model, depending on the configuration chosen, able to chop branches up to 2.5 cm in diameter. The gearbox runs at 540 rpm. The attachment frame is category 1, and the machine mounts to the tractor via a 3-point hitch. The rear roller is height-adjustable across three positions, allowing precise control of mowing height depending on terrain. Machine weight is 140 kg. Required tractor power remains in the same 12 to 30 HP range as all models in the line. Interestingly, a model of the same working width (106 cm) also exists in the standard Flipper line, where it has considerably greater weight (200 kg vs. 140 kg) and a wider required-power range (15-70 HP) due to its cast-iron rather than aluminium gearbox and ability to process thicker branches (5 cm vs. 2.5 cm) — the choice between the two lines of the same width depends on whether the user needs greater chopping power or a lighter, more economical machine. The three-position rear roller eases adapting mowing height to different terrain types, making the Ginger 106 a versatile choice within the compact-tractor segment.
