Gemini S239/2

The Bomet Gemini S239/2 is a single-row automatic potato planter with an integrated fertilizer dispenser from the Polish manufacturer Bomet, designed to plant potatoes in a single row while simultaneously dosing mineral fertilizer. The automatic planting mechanism ensures even spacing between plants along the row, while the fertilizer dispenser lets plants access nutrients as soon as they emerge. Row spacing is adjustable from 62 to 70 cm, somewhat narrower than the two-row S239/1 model, matched to single-row operation. Planting depth is adjustable from 10 to 15 cm, the same as the two-row model. The hopper for seed potatoes has a capacity of 90 kg, considerably smaller than the two-row model's (300 kg), in line with the lower volume of work per field pass. Operation requires a tractor of 15 kW, or 20 HP. The machine mounts to the tractor via a 3-point hitch, category 1N, intended for smaller and medium tractors with a narrow wheel track. Machine weight is 130 kg, considerably less than the two-row model (230 kg). Available as optional equipment are a fertilizer device and rubber wheels. Compared to the two-row Gemini S239/1, the single-row S239/2 is lighter, more compact and requires a lighter hitch category, making it more accessible for smaller tractors and smaller growing areas. Its smaller hopper capacity means more frequent seed-potato refilling during work, but the overall investment and tractor power requirement is lower, making this model a practical choice for smaller, family farms growing potatoes mainly for their own needs or modest commercial sale.
