Gemini S239/1

The Bomet Gemini S239/1 is a two-row automatic potato planter with an integrated fertilizer dispenser from the Polish manufacturer Bomet, designed to plant potatoes in two rows simultaneously while dosing mineral fertilizer alongside the seed. The automatic planting mechanism ensures even spacing between plants along the row, while the fertilizer dispenser lets plants access nutrients as soon as they emerge, without needing separate follow-up feeding. Row spacing is adjustable from 70 to 75 cm, matched to standard agrotechnical requirements for growing potatoes, while ridge spacing is 69 to 73 cm. Planting depth is adjustable from 10 to 15 cm, depending on soil type and seed-potato size. The hopper for seed potatoes has a capacity of 300 kg, sufficient for longer working intervals without frequent refilling. The machine mounts to the tractor via a 3-point hitch, category 2, standard for mid-size and larger tractors. Machine weight is 230 kg. Available as optional equipment are a fertilizer device (if not ordered in the base configuration) and rubber wheels. Compared to the single-row Gemini S239/2 model in the same range, the two-row S239/1 plants two rows simultaneously instead of one, has a larger hopper (300 kg vs. 90 kg) and greater weight (230 kg vs. 130 kg), but requires a heavier-duty hitch category (Cat 2 vs. Cat 1N). Its larger hopper capacity and two-row operation make this model considerably more productive per field pass, making it particularly suited to medium and larger farms growing potatoes on a more commercial scale, while the single-row model remains the more practical choice for smaller plots and lighter tractors.
