FLIPPER SUPER 158

The Del Morino Flipper Super 158 is an offset mulcher, made in Italy, the mid-range model in the Flipper Super line. Its construction allows the working head to shift sideways relative to the tractor, easing mowing along the edges of roads, ditches and fences without the tractor needing to drive over the terrain being worked. Working width is 158 cm (62”), while the overall machine width is 186 cm (72”). Power is transmitted via a three-belt transmission with an automatic tensioner, which absorbs shock loads and extends belt life. The rotor is fitted with 48 Y-blades or 24 flails, depending on the configuration chosen, able to chop branches up to 5 cm in diameter — the same branch diameter as the smaller and larger models in the line, where the greater blade count ensures better-quality processing across the wider working surface. The gearbox is made of cast iron, runs at 540 rpm, and is fitted with a freewheel device that protects the drive system from kickback if the rotor suddenly stops. A blade counter eases monitoring and maintenance of the rotor during servicing. The machine mounts to the tractor via a 3-point hitch, categories 1 and 2. An additional roller, 160 mm in diameter, contributes to even terrain-following and controls mowing height. Machine weight is 492 kg, slightly more than the 132 model (470 kg), in line with the wider working surface. Required tractor power ranges from 50 to 80 HP, identical to the other models in the line — here, the wider working surface doesn't translate into a greater power requirement, but into greater working output per pass at the same tractor power.
