The Turan two-furrow plow, 12 inch, VK design, is a larger two-furrow plow from the same line as the 10 inch model, with a wider working width of 60 cm (versus 50 cm for the 10 inch model) and a greater working depth of 30 cm (versus 25 cm). The plow retains 2 bottoms and the same 70 cm clearance and 75 cm bottom spacing as the smaller model, but with wider bottoms achieves greater coverage per pass, suited to heavier soil or farms wanting greater hourly output without moving up to a three-furrow plow. Due to the wider width and greater working depth, machine weight is 245 kg, somewhat more than the 10 inch model (221 kg), and recommended tractor power is 30 to 55 HP, also somewhat higher than the smaller model (25-50 HP), in line with the increased soil resistance during plowing. As with the 10 inch model, a range of spare and accessory parts is available: an extension mouldboard plate, a trash board, a replaceable share, a share point, a hydraulic tail (transport) wheel and a depth-adjustment wheel, as well as a cutter disc (coulter). The availability of the same range of spare parts for both models eases maintenance for farms that may own both plows from this line. The combination of increased width, greater working depth and still-moderate tractor power requirements makes the Turan two-furrow 12 inch VK plow a suitable choice for farms wanting greater plowing output without moving up to a costlier, heavier three-furrow model. Compared with the low-clearance (NK) design of the same nominal size, which has a significantly smaller working width of 30 cm and no stated working depth, weight or recommended power, the VK design is far more fully documented and intended for more demanding, regular plowing at standard depth, while the NK variant is reserved for specific conditions with an implement height constraint.
